Artist Van Thanh – A Multimaterial Vietnamese Painter
Van Thanh is a contemporary Vietnamese artist mastering multiple materials — lacquer, oil, silk, and sculpture. His art blends traditional craftsmanship with modern emotion, portraying the soul of Vietnam through delicate colors and profound stories.
He began his artistic journey as a boy at Soc Trang Fine Arts School when he was only in grade 9. Guided by many of Vietnam’s leading artists and professors, and later inspired by art mentors from London, he inherited and developed rare Vietnamese artistic techniques that are nearly lost today.
His paintings are unique — a fusion of East and West, tradition and innovation. Some techniques and visual languages in his works cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
Van Thanh continues to paint, teach, and share his passion at My Thuat Vui Art Studio in Ho Chi Minh City, where he inspires young artists to find happiness and creativity through art.
Hoạ sĩ Văn Thạnh – Người hoạ sĩ đa chất liệu của Việt Nam
Văn Thạnh là hoạ sĩ đương đại Việt Nam, thành thạo nhiều chất liệu: sơn mài, sơn dầu, lụa và tượng. Tranh của anh là sự kết hợp giữa kỹ thuật truyền thống và cảm xúc hiện đại – tái hiện linh hồn Việt Nam qua màu sắc tinh tế và những câu chuyện sâu sắc.
Anh bắt đầu học mỹ thuật từ khi còn là một cậu bé, tại Trường Mỹ Thuật Sóc Trăng, khi mới học lớp 9. Từ đó, anh được nhiều bậc thầy uy tín trong giới mỹ thuật Việt Nam truyền dạy tận tình, và sau này còn được các giáo sư đến từ London và Việt Nam hướng dẫn, giúp anh kế thừa những loại hình nghệ thuật độc đáo, hiếm có.
Một số thể loại tranh của anh là duy nhất, không thể tìm thấy ở bất kỳ nơi nào khác trên thế giới – vì chúng mang trong mình tinh hoa, sự tỉ mỉ và linh hồn của văn hoá Việt.
Hiện nay, anh tiếp tục sáng tác và giảng dạy tại Lớp Mỹ Thuật Vui (TP. Hồ Chí Minh), chia sẻ niềm hạnh phúc sáng tạo cho thế hệ trẻ và lan toả tình yêu nghệ thuật Việt Nam đến khắp nơi trên thế giới.
